Everyone this is my right ear. Let me tell you a little about this side of my face.
My first ear piercings were in my lobes. Just your average run of the mill gun piercing. I was eleven, it was my birthday and I was scared, but excited. I would be able to return to school a slightly cooler version of myself just because I had two bits of metal either side of my brain. I've had lots of cool earings, none of course that I'd chance to wear now because it's the Naught-ies and that was the Nineties. Now I have a pair of glow in the dark pink plastic rings in either lobe. Just for the sheer kitch value.
My next piercing was in the right ear, at the very top in my cartiledge. I had this one done with a gun just like I had my lobes done. Let me give you all some advice - NONONONONONONONONO guns. In cartiledge they traumatise the area and can induce infection mania. I've even heard horror stories of the cartiledge cracking and people ending up with deformed ears. I was a lucky one - I escaped with a few nasty infections but no huge bad stuff.
I had been introduded to needle piercing when I went out one Sunday and got my nipple pierced on impulse. Everyone thinks that would be the most painful experience, but for me it was like a right of passage or something. It was totally amazing. I'd recommend it to anyone. However a month or so ago I decided that I was over it. So its healed now - sorry no piccies!!!
For my second cartiledge in the right ear I was converted to needles. Even though it costs considerably more, if you choose your piercer correctly, there's lots of perks. For instance - a well placed puncture, good quality jewellery, less chance of infection and free checkups.

Now my left ear. Yeh yeh it's got the boring lobe one yada yada ya.
Plus the coool ones. My tragus was the next on the list since I had completed my right ear and was feeling lopsided. I had seen this piercing a little bit on the street and in the body modification ezine and fell in love with it. So one day I decided to go get it done with my friend who wanted to get her nipple done on the same day.
People think the tragus  hurts but it doesn't. Not to me anyway - I think I have a hight tolerance for pain. All I felt was the pressure of the clamps and then it was over. Reese my piercer was whinging because I chose a tiny piece of jewellery and his fingers were having trouble screwing the tiny ball on!!
The same night that I had my tragus done, one of the chickies at the shop noticed that my nose piercing was rejecting and she told me that I should take it out for a while and repierce it with a longer piece of jewellery. At this stage I was getting annoyed with it anyway - I kept brushing it out when I put on makeup and it hurt othertimes. So I took it out. I felt lopsided with three holes in the right side of my face and only two in the left side now.
A bit of a fan of Buffy - I noticed that she had a cool piercing in her lobe right about near the point where it turns into cartiledge. I was discussing it with my friends and we decided it would be helacool. I rocked up to the shop and got my "Buffy" piercing as everyone knows it now. So I'm all balanced!!!

I'm a huge follower of piercing, but I don't like it when people get hooked and pierce anything they can pinch. I feel that you need to exersise your asthetics because piercing is an artform and you are going to be on display. Over piercing is the worst way to put off grannies and employers.
